Stockwell Road Brixton

Had my first visit to the skatepark at Stockwell Road in brixton yesterday, and what a park! If you haven't seen it then basically its an old 70's park with a very mellow snake run into mellow bowls with a mix of transitions and other bits around the rest of the park. Whats good though is that unlike most 70's parks its been given a nice smooth coat of crete, and it makes it so fast and enjoyable. no worrying about trying to pull tricks or hit coping, just roll in, cruise about and get as much speed as you can while trying to avoid everyone else. no its not technical but it is such a blast! Sorry there's not pictures, I was too busy enjoying the skating but I promise I'll grab some snaps on my next visit.

Cheese eating surrender monkeys

Just got back from a week away to a Centerparcs in France with my entire family. Almost wrecked by the damn French Ferry workers calling a wildcat strike on Good Friday! Fair enough if your jobs crap then make a stand but is a bit of warning to the poor down trodden non ferry workers trying to go on their well earned once a year holiday too much to ask??
Anyway we bailed onto the Eurotunnel and that's it for me, I'm never going by sea again. How easy is the tunnel. Turn up, drive on, chill for 35 minutes then straight on to the road. No tight stairways, no crap food, no puking kids, no 'not actually that cheap' booze and perfume...suits me!
So keep on with your strikes Frenchies and soon there will be no ferry industry left!

Nike ad

Loving this April Fools ad from Nike. I know they are hated by many because they are thought to be trying to rule the world of sport, especially in things like skating, but frankly its never worried me much and I've always found their trainers to be really good so I'm posting this anyway!
